After marrying Iowa native Kim, Carlos immigrated from Argentina in 1984.
They settled in Kim’s hometown of Burlington, with their four-month-old baby. Carlos spoke very little English, had $40.00 in his pocket, and big dreams.
Soon after, Carlos began selling health supplement insurance door-to-door and farm-to-farm throughout the entire state of Iowa. One year later, with some sales experience under his belt, and a better understanding of English, Carlos began to work for The American Automobile Association of Iowa (AAA) selling club memberships. Carlos led the state in sales every month for four consecutive years. In 1989, the opportunity arose for him to start his own scratch agency, and Carlos and Kim started the Carlos Capdevila Agency.
In 1991, Carlos wrote his first Domino’s store in Burlington, Iowa. Not long after, Carlos met Bill Graves, a new Domino’s franchisee in Minnesota who was opening his first store in Willmar. Carlos and Bill became very good friends. Bill taught Carlos about the Domino’s Pizza franchise, and because of Bill’s influence, Carlos saw a need for an all-inclusive, direct program for elite Domino’s franchisees. The program would not be focused entirely on price, but instead provide products to specifically meet the franchisees needs, along a firm commitment to provide the best services available.
The Carlos Capdevila Agency, Inc. then sought out franchisees who were looking for a cost-effective product with superior service, price stability, long-term security and an insurance professional that understands their business.
The Carlos Capdevila Agency, Inc. is currently servicing 52 franchisees and protecting over 500 Domino’s locations in 18 midwestern states. Most of our clients have been with the Carlos Capdevila Agency, Inc. for over 30 years. Carlos, and the experienced and friendly staff of the Carlos Capdevila Agency, Inc., are expanding their exclusive insurance package to all 50 states and are looking forward to protecting and servicing new Domino’s franchisees from every state by the end of 2021.
